Rowan Softyak DK is a ball that you will love for its nice texture. Due to its composition, it has some hairs and is very soft in contact with the skin. You will get your clothes light and comfortable. 

DK refers to the type of thickness of its yarn.

It is a ball with a fine braided thread, a design that makes it very special. Your work will have a unique look with this wool. The 19 colours available are very different from each other: cheerful, soft, elegant... Each one of them has a slight marbled effect, which gives it a unique touch.

What is the composition of Rowan Softyak DK ?

  • 76% cotton
  • 15% yak
  • 9 % nylon

It is mainly composed of cotton fibres, which makes it a hypoallergenic type of ball, ideal for the most sensitive skins, such as those of children or the elderly.

Yak is an alternative to cashmere, which makes the ball incredibly soft, thanks to its tiny hairs.

What are the characteristics of Softyak DK by Rowan?

  • Each ball contains 50 grams and about 135 meters.
  • Its thickness is ideal for working with 4mm needles.
  • To make a 10 x 10 sample, mount 22 stitches and do 30 rows.
  • Machine wash at a maximum of 30ºC.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Dry flat.
  • Iron low (110ºC maximum).

How many balls do I need to make my projects ?

  • To make a long cardigan in size S, you will need about 12 balls.
  • To make a size 42 sweater, you will need between 12 and 13 balls.
