Schachenmayr Alva Silk is a wool characterized by its rustic aspect and its 100% natural composition. It is made by natural fibers of merino wool, cotton and silk, a mixture that gives a high quality to your projects.

It has the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certificate, which guarantees that it is an ecological yarn, that it have been produced in an environmentally sustainable way and that is totally free of products that are harmful to health.

Alva Silk is very pleasant on the skin and is perfect for knitting autumn and winter projects thanks to the warmth of the merino fibers. It can even be used for spring or summer projects in colder areas, as it is mixed with cotton and silk. It provides a rustic texture. In its twist you will find little raised spots formed by the silk, which brings out the natural character of the yarn - you'll love it!

• 50% merino yarn
• 25% cotton
• 25% silk

Which are the features of this yarn?

• Each ball has 50 grammes and around 230 meters. 
• Its thickness is perfect to work with the 3 - 3,5 mm knitting needles.
• Mount 24 stitches and do 33 rows to knit a 10 x 10 cm gauge.
• Wash by hand. 
• Do not iron it. 
• Dry flat recommended.

• To knit a man sweater size M, you will need around 8 balls.
• To knit a children sweater size 10 years, you will need around 4 balls.
