Scheepjes presents its new CAL: D’Histoire Naturelle, designed by the blogger Christina Hadderigh. The owner of the A Spoonful of Yarn blog was inspired by the Paris National Museum of Natural History galleries which are described in detail on the book All the Lights We Cannot See from Anthony Doerr. 

You can choose between 4 color combinations: Entomology, Herbarium, Conchology and Mineralogy, which you can crochet with the River Washed, Stone Washed or Colour Crafter yarns. Choose the kit you like the most and join us in the new Scheepjes challenge.

Size of the finished Stone Washed + River Washed blanket: 140-145 x 140-145cm.

Size of the finished Colour Crafter blanket: 145-150 x 145-150cm.

When will be this new CAL available?

This new CAL will be available next 23rd September. It is divided in 6 sessions which will be published every week on the Scheepjes web and on their official social media accounts. The patterns will be published on the Scheepjes Facebook group in English, German and Dutch. Video tutorials will also be published to help you knit the pattern.

You can also have the chance of participating in the reading club of All the Lights We Cannot See from Anthony Doerr which describes the Parisian museum galleries. This way you will understand better the CAL design. The book is not included on the kit.

What does the Stone Washed + River Washed kit include?

  • 38 Stone Washed and River Washed yarns of 50 grams.

Which are the features of Scheepjes Stone Washed and Scheepjes River Washed yarns?

  • They are made of 78% cotton and 22% acrylic.
  • Each yarn has 50 grams and around 130 meters.
  • Its thickness is perfect to work with the 3 – 3,5 mm needles.
  • Mount 24 stitches and do 32 rows to knit a 10 x 10 cm gauge.
  • Machine washable at up to 40ºC.
  • Iron at up to 140ºC.
  • Not suitable for the dryer. It is recommended to dry it horizontally without hanging it up.

What does the Colour Crafter kit include?

  • 17 Colour Crafter yarns of 100 grams.
  • 1 glass beads pack.
